The Split that Fits

Personally I am a 5 days a week workout type because I find that if I do not stay active at least 5 days a week i start falling out of my regiment. The typical 5 day Monday-Friday however does not work for me, with working in construction 5 days a week, working 40 plus hours i feel i get burnt out if i try to do too much, so here is a split that i think supports a more stable schedule for us who have to work full time. I take Mondays off, everyone hates Mondays weekends over you have to get up early again and its already a mental draining day so i go ahead and get the extra sleep i need to start my week off right. When Tuesday, Wednesday comes I hit it hard, here is the first two day of the week that i go to the gym, and as for Thursday i take my second and final day off for the week, I like to have the sleep in day around mid week as my job (as I am sure all of yours are to) is very demanding and draining. I find this final resting day is all i really need before i hit the routine hard for the next 3 days.

You may find this schedule a little frantic but it really helps eliminate the pressure of going to the gym and working full time all at the same time. Also if you are anything like me and have a hard time saying no to a “Few beers” on the weekend, one way to ensure you don’t have a slip up is to stay busy all weekend and even if the temptation strikes i find that once i go to the gym i am more reluctant to just throw away all my gains on a night out, also its hard to work out in the morning with a hangover.
